Reunion Concert Planned - October 18, 2008

It is hard to believe that 40 years have passed since the founding of the Lorain All-City Orchestra that evolved into the Northern Ohio Youth Orchestras. We now have three orchestras – Camarata, Symhonetta and Philharmonia. To celebrate this anniversary we are organizing a special reunion concert for October 18, 2008. Save the date! Our special director for the concert will be Michael Christie, an accomplished conductor of the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony and Queensland Symphonies and former assistant conductor of NOYO.

The schedule includes a gathering party Friday evening for returning alums. Saturday will include rehearsals and a talk by Michael on the status of orchestral music in America. The concert will be Saturday afternoon in Finney Chapel. We will be sending a reservation letter out next summer.
